SiNaCa Studios - School of Glass
Will Be Coming Soon to Fort Worth

A new arts venue, SiNaCa Studios-School of Glass, is now being established in Fort Worth. The plan for SiNaCa Studios is to build a school for glassblowing, illuminated glass, kiln-formed glass, flameworking, and mixed media sculpture.

The brainchild of several local glass artists, this will be the first school of glass that is available to everyone in the community — from the beginning student to the professional — who wishes to perfect their skill. The mission of this group is “to provide an opportunity to experience the rich tradition of glass as a creative medium through education and studio involvement.”

There is avid support for this project from individual volunteers who are prominent leaders in the Fort Worth arts scene, artists of various disciplines and galleries in the Fort Worth and Dallas area. Property is already being sought for this project and the school has been incorporated toward its non-profit status.

To introduce the community to SiNaCa Studios, a premier show featuring glass artists will be held during the month of February in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. The Opening Gala will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 from 6:00-9:00 PM at the same location. Silent and live auctions will be presented as well as an extensive art glass sale. Proceeds from this event will aid in funding the SiNaCa Studio project.

The West Coast has Dale Chihuly and his Pilchuck Glass School, the East Coast has The Studio of The Corning Museum of Glass, and now Fort Worth will have SiNaCa Studios, adding yet another dimension to our rich cultural scene.
