Cold Working Studio Rental

Cold Working Studio Rental

Studio Rental Rates

All renters MUST have updated and signed Studio Rental Agreement and Risk and Release forms on file. All cold working studio rentals include use of basic equipment. Aprons, gloves and other safety protection (ears muffs, safety glasses and respiratory masks) are available. Premium and special request equipment may be used for an additional fee. There is a $50 fee to replace broken/damaged equipment from misuse.

Skills Test/Renter Assessment: If Renter has never taken a kiln forming class with SiNaCa, Renter must complete a rental assessment before studio rental is approved. This will take about an hour and will involve a few basic exercises to make sure the renter is comfortable with the basics of fusing and with usage of the equipment.

Orientation: All renters will be required to complete a brief orientation with a staff member prior to first rental day. This meeting will serve to answer any questions the Renter may have as well as cover the studio procedures to ensure comfort in the space before work is started.

SiNaCa Assistant: The primary function of a SiNaCa Assistant in the cold working studio is to follow the direction of the artist that is renting the studio and the use of the assistant. A studio rental with a SiNaCa Assistant is not intended to be a substitute for a Private Lesson. A renter must be able to pass a Skills Test/Renter Assessment in order to use a SiNaCa Assistant.

SiNaCa Consultant: The primary function of a SiNaCa Consultant in the cold working studio is teaching new skills or offering other direct advice on a project. A studio rental with a SiNaCa Consultant is not intended to substitute for a Private Lesson. A renter must be able to demonstrate basic kiln forming fundamental skills to use a SiNaCa Consultant.

Private Lessons: Private Lessons are an opportunity to learn fundamental skills in cold working outside of our standard curriculum. A student can work at their own pace to learn the fundamentals before moving on to working with a SiNaCa Consultant.
