SiNaCa Youth Glass Club | Sampler is a 12-week (36 hour) program that is specifically designed to be offered to middle and high school students (ages 13-19).  This program is an amazing introduction to all of our studios that gives students the opportunity to expand their education and artistic experiences with glass art.  Students will learn valuable skills, form strong friendships and discover their amazing creative abilities while learning about the fascinating physical properties of glass and the rich history behind studio art glass all in a fun, friendly, safe environment.

Participants are hands on with the material through every session while practicing a wide variety of hot and warm glass making techniques; glass blowing, sand casting, kiln forming, cold working and flame working, and leave this program with unique works of glass that will make their portfolio, college application or desk shine.  Program sessions are led by local teaching artists and will focus on several engaging subjects while introducing beginning techniques of glass art creation through item/project based teaching.  Students may be split into smaller groups based on age and experience.  For first time participants, we will focus on basic techniques with predetermined projects.  Whereas, returning participants will have the opportunity to build on their earlier experiences to increase confidence while working in the studio to work toward personal artistic goals.

Students will also participate in a group project that will be auctioned off during one of our fundraising events.  Proceeds from the sale of this project will go toward the SiNaCa ACE fund.

All glass, materials and supplies are included.
